About event

ALRUD Law Firm and Quinn Emanuel (England) invite you to participate in a seminar:

“Practical aspects of dispute resolution in England and Russia: arbitration and cross-border bankruptcy”.

23rd November, 2021

2.00 pm - 4.00 pm (Moscow)

Despite political tensions and the sanctions rivalry of the last several years, Russian businesses remain closely integrated with the global economy, and the flow of Russia-related disputes is still significant in foreign jurisdictions, including England. At the same time, recent developments in Russian legislation and court practice have brought up new issues, which are of crucial importance for effective recovery strategies.

To cover the overlapping practical aspects of cross-border disputes and arbitration involving both Russia and England, the seminar will be attended by solicitors from one of the UK's best-known law firms, Quinn Emanuel and lawyers of the leading Russian law firm, ALRUD, who have an extensive expertise in resolving multi-jurisdictional contentious matters.

During the seminar the following topics will be discussed:

  • Commercial arbitration:practical view on choice of arbitration rules and seat and financial aspects of arbitration.
  • Anti-suit injunctions and freezing orders:case study and discussion from English and Russian perspectives.
  • Arbitration awards:challenges to arbitration awards and their enforcement.
  • Cross-border bankruptcy:exporting Russian bankruptcy tools abroad.

Participation is free of charge.
