Projects

We offered advice to Russia's largest provider of locomotive maintenance, repair, modernization and leasing services concerning an export transaction to supply locomotives to other countries and supervision of the assembly of locomotives by a local company.

We advised one of the world's leading luxury clothing manufacturers regarding various commercial law issues during the course of entering into a commercial concession agreement with a Swiss franchisee for the purpose of its further execution in Russia.

We advised Uber International Inc. in the process of negotiating a joint business deal with Yandex NV in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Ukraine. The deal was the largest merger in the Russian taxi aggregator market.

We represented Bayer AG in connection with its acquisition of Monsanto Company to FAS Russia and the competition authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Advised Sib Trading AG, a Swiss coal company, regarding the acquisition of Sibenergougol, a Russian coal mining company.

We analyzed the applicability of the European Data Protection Regulation concerning the activities of Russian branches and representative offices of a large foreign-owned joint venture, engaged in oil field development in Russia.

We advised a leading U.S. energy drink manufacturer on regulatory requirements, customer relations and advertising requirements in the CIS countries.

Guidance was given to a U.S. corporation specializing in ceiling and wall solutions, concerning the structuring of employment relations, with one of the top managers of its Kazakhstan office.

We advised a world-renowned manufacturer of electronic cigarettes in connection with its entry into the Russian and CIS countries markets.

We offered advice to the ALUTECH Group, a major Eastern European manufacturer of roller shutter systems, aluminium profile systems and sectional gates, regarding compliance with EAEU legislation on unfair competition.

We coordinated the work of a team of English and American lawyers for the litigation that took place in the Supreme Court of the State of New York and the London Court of International Arbitration concerning loan recovery and enforcement in the United States.

We developed a strategy for a large private bank in one of the Eastern European countries for the recovery of debts from its debtors/guarantors registered in different jurisdictions and foreign nationals, as well as to search for assets in different jurisdictions (Russia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, Marshall Islands). We further assisted in the recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards in the Marshall Islands and Cyprus.

We gave advice and guidance to one of the largest banks in the CIS on recovery of losses caused by the fraudulent actions of its shareholders, as well as regarding the case before the London High Court and the London Court of International Arbitration.

We advised the world's largest organizer of industrial auctions and its foreign legal advisor concerning a dispute in a Dutch court initiated in connection with the fraudulent actions of Russian companies participating in the auctions. ALRUD managed to successfully conduct a comprehensive investigation and prove the affiliation and concerted actions of these companies.

We advised and represented a Russian private investor in connection with a cross-border litigation in an English court on the recovery of more than $15 million from the Turkish counterparties that had illegally taken control of several real estate properties. The dispute was complicated by a number of issues related to the requirement for subsequent recognition of the court decision in a number of foreign jurisdictions.

We represented a major global automotive manufacturer in several dozens of related litigation disputes over recognition of the foreign court decisions in Russia. ALRUD achieved recognition of all decisions of the foreign courts, which set a precedent in Russia for the practice of recognition of foreign court decisions.

We gave representation to a major German businessman in cross-border divorce proceedings in Germany and Russia involving the determination of the residence of children. ALRUD managed to achieve termination of the proceedings in the Russian court in order to ensure the enforceability of the decision of the German court.

We advised an international company selling electronic cooking devices, on the applicable requirements of the laws of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. We also gave further advice on personal data protection, currency regulation and consumer protection in connection with the planned launch of an online prescription platform, mobile application and electronic device sales in these three countries.

We advised Atlantic SeaFood with regards to the JV project in Senegal, for the development of a fish processing plant.

We advised Russia's industrial group Vi Holding, concerning development of a JV greenfield platinum mining project in Zimbabwe (Darwendale Project).

We advised Vimetco N.V on different matters related to its Chinese subsidiaries, including Henan Zhongfu Aluminium (listed on Shanghai stock exchange).
