About event

The global crisis, that Russian and foreign businesses are currently facing, requires management to make complex, non-standard and often prompt decisions, aimed at protecting the rights and interests of companies. Economic and political pressures on business, changes in logistics and financial constraints lead to various consequences, in particular, the cessation of activities of international companies in the Russian market, or suspension of activities for an indefinite period, or changes in supply chains and building new relationships between suppliers and buyers.

In such circumstances, contracts are among the most significant tools to achieve certainty in relations with partners, distribute risks and agree on the procedure for fulfilling, or terminating, obligations.

ALRUD specialists will hold this webinar, during which they will touch upon the most pressing issues of interaction with counterparties, during the crisis, as well as share their views on the best practices for responding to existing trials and challenges. Our commercial law experts will cover the following topics:

  • Conclusion and modification of the contract in a crisis: what terms of the contract, and provisions of the legislation, should be paid special attention (limits of freedom of the contract, as well as delivery bases, exemptions from export restrictions, limitation of liability, etc.);
  • Termination and suspension of contractual obligations due to impossibility of performance, force majeure, or significant change in circumstances;
  • How to take into account the novelties of Russian legislation that affect the operation and execution of contracts under sanctions, at the present time (currency clauses, advances, qualification of contracts for the purposes of compliance with the law, responsibility for compliance with foreign sanctions, etc.);
  • Impact of the moratorium on bankruptcy of Russian companies on commercial relations: voidability of transactions and other risks.

Our webinar will be useful to a wide range of specialists from international businesses, either planning to leave the Russian market, or to suspend operations temporarily, or to continue their business operations in Russia.

We also invite you to ask your questions in advance and during the webinar.

Please send your questions in advance of the webinar to our marketing manager Olga Smirnova (
