Margarita Egiazarova speaks at the Business Way Forum conference «Labour Disputes in Russia»

On 25 September 2026, Margarita Egiazarova, Partner and Head of the Labour Law Practice at ALRUD, PhD in Law, acted as a speaker and moderator at the second session of the conference «Labour Disputes and HR Compliance 2026: How to prevent conflicts, protect your business, and win a dispute before it is referred to court» arranged by Business Way Forum.

During her report titled «Final Settlement: Case law on compensation upon and after dismissal, deductions, and cancellation of bonus,» Margarita provided a detailed analysis of the key financial and legal risks employers face when terminating employment relationships. The speaker highlighted the procedure for paying compensation for unused vacation days and work on weekends, as well as the nuances of including bonuses – both those that are part of the compensation system and those that are not – in the final settlement. Special emphasis was placed on the specifics of payments and severance benefits in cases of staff redundancy and termination of employment by mutual agreement, as well as on the rules and restrictions regarding deductions from wages, including the repayment of advances and bringing to financial liability.

The second part of the conference, moderated by Margarita, dealt with practical tools for protecting businesses from HR-related threats. During the session, experts addressed controversial issues such as recovering damages from employees and reimbursing training costs, as well as proving violations in cases of dismissal for disciplinary reasons or due to a loss of confidence. In addition, participants discussed in detail the risks of reclassifying relationships with self-employed individuals and contractors under civil law agreements as employment relationships, as well as the problem of outsourcing turning into disguised employment relationships when external personnel are directly managed on the production floor, based on the results of a legal audit.
