The article written by senior partner Vassily Rudomino and attorney German Zakharov devoted to the "dawn raids" was published in the November issue of the Legal Insight magazine №4(5), November 2011.

The unannounced inspections of legal entities have become an effective tool of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service.

«The dawn raids» is a common practice of foreign competition authorities. Conducting unannounced inspections gives antitrust authorities a significant advantage, because the lack of information about the forthcoming investigation leaves the offender a very little chance to destroy evidence of guilt.

In this article the authors speak about the problems of ”dawn raids” regulation and practical aspects of cooperation with members of the antimonopoly service inspection. The article draws attention to the complex of preventive measures that reduce the risk of violations of antitrust laws, prevent possible violations of the rights of the company and its employees, as well as increase the confidence during the “dawn raid”.
