ALRUD advances its position in Legal 500 EMEA 2017 rating

April 12 Legal 500, one of the most competent legal magazines, published the results of periodic research. The ranking is based on feedback from 250 000 in-house peers and clients and information on key deals.

This year ALRUD Law firm has broadened its position in Legal 500 EMEA. The following practices are included in the rating: Banking and Finance (Tier 2 and Tier 3); Capital & Equity Markets (Tier 3); Competition/Antitrust (Tier 1); Corporate Law and Merger and Acquisitions (Tier 3), Dispute Resolution (Tier 3); Labour and Employment (Tier 2); Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure (Tier 4); Intellectual Property (Tier 3); PPP (Tier 3); Real estate (Tier 3); Tax (Tier 3); Media, Brands and Technology (Tier 3).

Two ALRUD practices have debuted in the rating this year – Capital & Equity Markets and PPP. The rating highlights extensive experience in domestic and cross-border capital markets transactions of Vassily Rudomino, ALRUD Senior Partner, heading the practice. Corporate partner Alexander Zharskiy is a key name for public offerings and private placement matters.

The rating highlights that the team of PPP Practice is “responsive and highly qualified” while Andrey Zharskiy, Partner, is “a practical, commercially oriented and dedicated leader”.

Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure Practice has improved its positions in the rating this year and moved from Tier 5 to Tier 4. The rating notes that “large team of professional lawyers” is “highly experienced in Russian and international projects”, and has “a great understanding of practical business issues”. The Practice Head is Andrey Zharskiy, Anton Dzhuplin is the other name noted by Legal 500.

Competition/Antitrust Practice has been ranked in Tier 1 for 4 year already. Among key strength of the team, the rating mentions that it is “well-connected” and “highly knowledgeable on merger control issues”. “A thought leader in the antitrust sphere”, Vassily Rudomino has “excellent relationships with the FAS”.

Employment Practice team has been again ranked in Tier 2. The rating highlights the team`s “great industry knowledge” and broad expertise of Practice Head, Partner, Irina Anyukhina.

Commercial, Corporate and Merger & Acquisition, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Tax, Media, Brands and Technology Practices have reaffirmed their positions in Tier 3.

The rating comments that Commercial, Corporate and Merger & Acquisition Practices teams have “a great understanding of the practical issues concerning business in Russia”, and provide “comprehensive and easy-to-read advice”. Two ALRUD Partners are ranked in these Practices: Alexander Zharskiy and Anton Dzhuplin.

Legal 500 emphasizes expertise in cross-border disputes of Dispute Resolution Head and Senior Partner Vassily Rudomino.

Real Estate Practice according to the rating is a “professional team of lawyers”, “highly experienced in Russian and international projects”, and has “a great understanding of practical business issues”. Andrey Zharskiy heads the team and Anton Dzhuplin handles infrastructure-related matters.
