ALRUD antitrust team successfully represented the interests of Uber Technologies Inc., an international IT company operating the ride hailing and food delivery mobile platforms worldwide, before FAS Russia with regard to the clearance of its JV with Yandex.Taxi, Russia’s largest online taxi booking service. The project created a combined platform, which covered six countries of CIS and other neighboring countries, and became the deal of the year in Russia according to the Forbes.
The company was valued at approximately USD 3.7 billion.
Specialists of Antitrust / Competition practice in close cooperation with the leading international and local antitrust counsels elaborated and applied the more appropriate strategy for the interaction with the authority and successfully received the clearance. The review process resulted in the elaboration of the new approach to the analysis of the relevant taxi market in Russia.
