Ekaterina Bronitsyna is an Associate in the Labour and Employment Practice at ALRUD Law Firm.

She provides support in projects for our Russian and foreign clients related to various issues of employment legislation. These include general consultations in cross-border matters, support for conducting HR audits and complex dismissals, as well as staff restructuring issues. Ekaterina has broad experience supporting clients on various migration projects related to obtaining their migration permit documents and general compliance with migration requirements, as well as issues related to obtaining residence permits and Russian citizenship. Ekaterina specializes in labour litigation and employment laws as well as immigration-related issues, including nationality law.

Ekaterina has experience implementing and localizing companies’ internal policies and staff optimization, as well as restructuring. Ekaterina also represents the clients’ interests in labour litigation.

Ekaterina graduated from Moscow State University with a major in labour law. She is fluent in English.

ALRUD Labour Practice holds an HR club dedicated to financial liability of employees
On 22 May 2024 ALRUD hosted face-to-face meeting of HR-Club on the topic: “Financial liability in labour relations: a dialogue on the eternal”. The following experts from ALRUD Labour Practice participated in the discussion: Irina Anyukhina, Partner, Maria Nevezhina, Senior Associate, PhD in Law, Ekaterina Bronitsyna, Associate. The participants discussed how to bring an employee to financial liability effectively and safe for the company; how to recover damages; how to document the procedure so that even the most demanding court would take the employer’s side; how to bring top-management to liability without reputational losses. ALRUD HR-Clubs are held in the format of live discussion, exchange of views, and dialogue between business and lawyers. Dialogue between legal counsels and practitioners makes the event the most useful for all the club members. We would like to remind you about ****important changes in migration legislation**** that affect the ****legal status of foreign nationals**** in the Russian Federation, including highly qualified specialists (“HQS”). Cancellation of work permits Please note that the territorial bodies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs ****have resumed**** the practice of ****cancelling the work permits**** of foreign nationals (including HQS) when they leave the Russian Federation for more than 6 months. There are already known cases of permits being cancelled on this basis in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Please note that a foreign national’s work permit may be cancelled if the foreigner: ****is outside**** the Russian Federation ****for more than 6 consecutive months****; ****left**** the Russian Federation ****for permanent residence**** in a foreign country. In this regard, it is recommended to ****monitor**** the period of foreign nationals stay outside the Russian Federation and promptly arrange entry into the Russian Federation. Submitting salary payment notifications for HQS Employers (customers of works/services) must submit a ****notification**** on the payment of salary (remuneration) to a HQS for the first quarter of 2024 (January-March 2024) no later than 27 April 2024. The notification to the territorial bodies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs may be submitted: on ****paper****; by ****registered mail**** with return receipt and an inventory of attachments; ****electronically**** via the “Gosuslugi” portal. Starting from 1 March 2024, the updated amount of HQS compensation must be at least RUB 750,000 per quarter. More details are available here. Failure to submit notification or the improper submission of notification is subject to administrative liability with a fine of: up to RUB 70,000 for the company’s officials, up to RUB 1,000,000 for companies. Experts from the ALRUD Labour and Employment Practice are ready to provide all the necessary legal assistance on migration issues, as well as issues related to the preparation of documents for foreign nationals, including HQS.

ALRUD Labour Practice experts upheld success at the Fourth General Court of Cassation in a labour dispute with an election commissioner employee
On December 1st the Labour Practice team successfully proved the success of a 9 month complicated redundancy case involving the dismissal of a protected election commissioner employee in the Fourth Court of Cassation of General Jurisdiction. ALRUD team working on the project included labour dispute experts Margarita Egiazarova, Senior Associate, PhD and Ekaterina Bronitsyna, Associate, as well as Anastasia Petrova, Labour and Employment Practice Of Counsel of ALRUD.
