Polina Perova speaks at AIJA Conference in Courmayeur

Polina Perova, Advocate, MCIArb, took part in the winter conference "Escaping the Whiteout: Dealing with Off-Piste Risk Factors in Corporate/M&A and Corporate Litigation" of International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), held from January 14 to 17, 2026, at the foot of Mont Blanc – in Courmayeur, Italy.
As a part of the event arranged by the Corporate and M&A Commission and the Litigation Commission, Polina spoke at the panel discussion "Facing Distress: Mitigating Risks in Challenging Times" held on January 15. Polina presented an expert view on managing "dormant" Russian companies when foreign shareholders are not actually involved in corporate management, but keep maintaining a legal and economically significant position. The main issues under discussion comprised risks for the directors of such companies, scenarios for return of foreign shareholders to management, strategic difficulties, and ongoing global discussions on the matters of foreign companies’ return to the Russian market.
AIJA Winter Seminar gathered leading legal practitioners from over 30 countries. The Programme, consisting of six panel discussions, comprised the discussion of new challenges in the ESF sphere, digital technologies, blockchain, AI, and new approaches to drafting sale and purchase agreements (SPA) given the risks of future disputes.
