On November 6 the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Seoul, Republic of Korea, hosted a conference “Russia in Seoul: Business perspectives in Russia”. The event was held by the Korean Bar Association and the Federal Chamber of Lawyers with active participation and assistance of law firms ALRUD and YUST.
The President of Korean Bar Association Chul-Whan We Vice Minister of the RF for Far East development M.L. Shereikin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea K.V. Vnukov, Trade representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea M.B. Bondarenko and the President and Director General of KOTRA Young Ho Oh addressed the participants and attendees of the conference with opening speeches.
The first session of conference concerned the economic aspects of organization and conducting business in Russia, and means of promoting investments to the Russian regions, including the Far East. The session was co-moderated by Maxim Alekseyev, Senior Partner of the ALRUD Law Firm. The speakers told the Korean entrepreneurs of the Russian potential as investment target, and of certain aspects of conducting business in our country.
During the panel discussion “Legal framework of business in Russia. Development of Russian-Korean legal cooperation” members of ALRUD and YUST Law Firms spoke on key issues of the topic.
ALRUD Law Firm covered the following topics:
Tax regulation and customs law (export/import);
Labour legislation of the RF;
Real estate and construction, real estate lease, land plots;
M&A andJV;
Natural resources.
The YUST Law Firm Partners spoke on prospects of Greenfield and Brownfield investments, antitrust issues and cooperation with FAS Russia; Labour legislation of the RF; Dispute resolution and Intellectual property.
The visit to Seoul was very fruitful for ALRUD Law Firm Partners: alongside with participating in the workshop Maxim Alekseyev and Anton Dzhuplin were able to hold a number of business meetings.
