On 11-14 September 2019, Ekaterina Vasina, Associate, ALRUD Private Clients Practice, and a member of International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), participated in the IAFL European Chapter Meeting.
International Academy of Family Lawyers is a global association of practicing lawyers and experts in family law. The Academy's goal is to develop the sphere of the family law, using the best international developments and experience. The Academy members hold regular meetings to discuss topical issues of their relevant area.
The IAFL European Chapter 2019 was held at the Palau de Congressos de Palma Conference Center, Palma de Mallorca. Ekaterina Vasina participated in the panel discussion on the concept of 'parents,' their rights and responsibilities, and the grounds for acquiring parental responsibility in different countries. In her speech, Ekaterina highlighted the statutory regulation and judicial practice in Russia, regarding the surrogacy and adoption of children left without parental care, the procedure for acquiring parental rights by unmarried persons, at the time of the birth of the child, as well as the procedure for resolving disputes regarding communication and participation in the upbringing of the child by parents living separately.
