Stay up-to-date with the ****latest developments in labour law related to employee remuneration****. These updates are essential for ensuring accurate payroll calculations, particularly in cases of employment termination, and for aligning local regulations with current legal requirements.
Effective January 1, 2025, a revised minimum wage for a standard monthly work schedule will come into force. At the federal level, the minimum wage will increase to RUB 22,440 up from the current RUB 19,242.
This change will affect not only salary ****calculations**** but also vacation pay, travel and sick leave benefits, and any salary ****indexation**** linked directly to the minimum wage.
Effective March 1, 2025, employers will be required ****to compensate**** employees upon dismissal for unused days off accrued from ****working on weekends or public holidays**** throughout their period of employment.
Specifically, if an employee opted for a day off ****instead of receiving higher pay**** for work performed on such days but did not ultimately use the day off, they will be entitled to the difference between the higher applicable payment and the actual payment received.
The new law provides that, employees may request to use a day off earned for work on a weekend or public holiday either (1) within one year of the date of such work or (2) by adding it to their leave during the designated period.
We strongly recommend that companies ****review**** their current labour remuneration procedures and ****update**** their internal policies to reflect these changes.
