Alexander is a Partner, Head of ALRUD Banking and Finance practice.
His two core areas of focus are financings and financial services regulation. Previously, he headed the banking and finance practice at a major international law firm and before that was head of legal at one of the world's largest banks based in Moscow.
Having practised law in the financial services sector for more than two decades, Alexander knows the industry inside out. He clearly understands the issues faced, be it a new regime for taking security in a debt finance transaction or a regulatory grey area in day-to-day operations. Alexander brings his vast experience to help lenders and borrowers to work through complex financing projects and restructurings. Alexander helps his clients to find solutions and achieve positive results when it comes to dealing with a myriad of Russian financial services, payments and licensing regulations and matters.
Recognised as a leader in trade and export finance, Alexander has handled some of the most significant pre-export and structured commodities financings in Russia. On the regulatory front, he helps financial institutions and payment service providers on various aspects of Russian financial services and payments regulations, and has helped his clients with a number of landmark projects in Russia.
